How to Download & Listen to Your Music

Thanks for purchasing from Kimbo! We truly appreciate your business. Here is everything you need to know about getting your new tracks onto your device.

Option 1: The Modern Way (iPhone/iPad Only)

You can purchase and download music directly to your iPhone without ever touching iTunes or a computer. Since Apple introduced the Files app, the process is much smoother.

Complete your purchase: Once you buy an album or track, you’ll receive a download link on the "Success" page and via email.

Tap the link: Your iPhone will open the link in Safari.

Confirm the download: A pop-up will ask if you want to download the file. Tap Download.

Track progress: Look for the small blue arrow icon in the Safari address bar to see your progress.

Where do the files go? By default, these files live in the Files app (the blue folder icon), specifically in the Downloads folder.

Handling .zip files: If you bought an album, it will likely download as a .zip file. Simply tap the zip file in your Downloads folder, and your iPhone will automatically create a folder containing all your high-quality tracks.

Listening: You can play songs directly from the Files app! For a better "library" experience, consider using third-party apps like VOX or VLC, which can "watch" your Files folders and organize your music for you.

Option 2: The Traditional Library Sync (Desktop/Laptop)

If you want your music to appear inside the official Apple Music app (alongside your streaming library), you must use a computer. You cannot import files directly into the native Music app on an iPhone without a desktop.

Complete your purchase: Once you buy an album or track, you’ll receive a download link on the "Success" page and via email.

Tap the link: Download the files to your computer or laptop.

Import the Files: Import the files into your desktop music application and sync your iPhone to your computer to transfer the files. Not sure how to do that? Please see below.

Listening via Spotify (Android & iOS)

Album downloads do not automatically appear in Spotify. You must use the Local Files feature:

On Mobile:

Enable Local Files: In Spotify Settings, toggle Show local audio files to ON.

Permissions: (iOS only) Ensure Spotify has permission to access your files in Settings > Privacy & Security > Media & Apple Music.

Find your music: Open Your Library and tap the Local Files folder. You can now add these tracks to your playlists.

On Desktop: If you have the files on your computer, you can sync them to your mobile app by ensuring both your computer and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network. Enable "Local Files" on the desktop app, add the folder, and then "Download" that playlist on your phone.
